I'm Sandra, and my journey with children and education began in Italy, where I spent four years discovering what it truly means to connect with young learners. I started as an au pair for a year, which gave me an intimate understanding of children—how they think, what makes them curious, and how to build trust and connection. From there, I moved into teaching at an English private school, delivering all lessons in English and discovering my passion for making learning accessible and engaging. I then spent the final two years at an English language school, teaching English to students of all ages.
Those four years in Italy taught me patience, adaptability, and the power of storytelling to make language come alive. Now, I bring all of that experience to Parker Books, where I work with SEN students, create books that celebrate unique voices, and help young writers develop their craft.
